I realized in the last few months that I liked my church more when I didn't know what was going on. When I showed up and listened to the sermons and served once a month in the nursery. Don't get me wrong, I like my church and love the people I have met there, especially my Rock Group. You can't get any better than The Friday Night Lights. But, yes there is a but, it makes me sad to know that people no longer come to our church because their emails weren't answered or they never got a response from the Connection Card they filled out. Here's my solution to this: I am going to take care of my middle school girls and the people I love and care about. That's all I can do.
I watched the first episode of The Biggest Loser on Tuesday and it scared me to death. There was a lady on there that was the same weight as I am and they showed her what her organs looked like. Holy cow! It was enough to motivate me even more. I have been doing a great job this week and last. I am walking on the treadmill everyday and thinking about what I eat and making sure I stick to my plan. I even lost 6 pounds last week! I just don't want to be like this anymore. I am sick and tired of myself. I threw away all of my fat clothes, so I have to keep my weight in check or I am going to be wearing a lot of sweat pants.
On a much better note gas dropped 20 cent yesterday at the BP I pass every morning!

Like you I know too much about things that go on in the church. Sometimes I wish I knew nothing....
Good for you for getting motivated. I can came to the YMCA in Harrisburg as my guest and take my Zumba class. Today is my first class at 4:30-5:30. Let me know anytime you want to join me. It is so much FUN!!!
Stephanie, You GO Girl! You can do it! I struggle every day, and I know you have the strength to do this! I'll be praying for you and if you need to talk... or scream.. call me girl!

ouch...somethings should just be kept unsaid...people don't realize who they are hurting sometimes by what they say (or don't say)! How can people know there is a problem if people don't say anything? OUCH!

And 1 more thing...shouldn't the congregation support their pastor's and help them out and build them up, instead of tear them down on a blog or a comment?
Same person...
Like the pastor always says, "sometime in order to understand people, you have to walk in their shoes..."
Maybe you could help find a volunteer to help respond to emails and Connection cards if you think this is a problem. It's hard when a church growing very fast and it is under-staffed and the staff it does have is under-paid. Just something to think about...
