Another

We have another proud mommy moment today.  When Alex got in the car and told me this story, I was so proud, I almost cried!  Seriously, there were tears in my eyes and a knot in my throat.  There is an autistic girl in his class this year.  She is such a joyful light to us adults.  If we aren't in her class next year, I will truly miss her. Anyway, she is afraid of thunder and often asks if the planes taking off from the airport are thunder.  We had a pop up storm this afternoon, it came from nowhere!  When it started thundering I got worried about her in the class, the teacher isn't in class this week due to surgery.  As soon as Alex got in the car he was bursting to tell me what he did.  When it started thundering she immediately started freaking out.  Alex asked her what her favorite animal is and she told him a hedgehog.  He told her to pretend she was a mommy hedgehog.  He said it helped her calm down.
