Fatty
Brianna was called a fatty today by someone. I quickly handled the situation with the offending kid, but really got to thinking about how one little word can tear someone down. How can I teach her to not let it tear her down? I'm just now learning this and I'm 33! So, how can I teach an 8 year old that no one has the right to speak to her that way and that she shouldn't believe it? We talked about it tonight and she is hurt by it, as she should be. I tried to reassure her and love on her. Anyone have any suggestions?

OK, who was the offender? Brianna is not fat - she is a beautiful, intelligent young lady and she's MaMaw's girl!
I don't have any words of wisdom on this one - it just makes me mad. I guess just encourage her and let her know how special she is everyday - build her self-confidence as much as possible.

The old saying, "sticks & stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me," is a lie straight out of the devil's mouth.Kids are cruel sometimes but you have to realize kids are for the most part are not taught the way we were growing up. You just have to continue to encourabe Brianna & teach her to forgive as Jesus said to do when people mistreat you & say ugly things to you,
