Ah, the weekend. The first weekend after school started. We ALL needed to rest and relax. The kids had a good first week of school. They both seem to like their teachers. Alex said his teacher is "cute." Which tells me he is flashing that Alex smile to try to get out of trouble already. I got an email from his teacher thanking me for cutting out some stuff for her and she said he was being very well behaved.
Friday night we were home cleaning house. After being at the middle school all week working on PTSA stuff some thing around the house had been neglected.
Saturday was Bri's 13th birthday!! She woke up to a pancake breakfast. We finished cleaning the house and got ready for her friends to come over. That afternoon I took Bri and three of her friends to the movies to see This is Us, the One Direction movie. They were so funny watching the movie, singing and dancing in their chairs. When we got home my family was here so we could party! We had pizza and cake and the girls continued their singing.
Sunday afternoon we were home. Alex's gym teacher gave them a weekly challenge, to ride a scooter or bike for 100 minutes this week. So, of course, Alex had to ride his scooter for a bit. I think he is halfway finished. For supper I made some okra that wasn't fried and tasted really good. I sliced the okra, not super thin, and tossed it with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Then I baked them at 350 until they were a little crunchy. I really liked them and it's going to be a good way to use up the okra someone gave us.
I'm glad we have Monday off. I'm hoping to not to have to be at the middle school everyday this week. I would love to get back to the gym and actually get something done, like cook a proper supper.
