Running Bunnies and Easter Eggs

Today was a busy day for the Taylor family. Brianna and I ran the Bunny Run, our very first 5K, this morning at 8:30. We didn't do all that bad. We walked a lot of it and I think I finished the whole thing in a little over 51 minutes, with Brianna right behind me. But, I finished running! I think we may try another one in April. I am so proud of Brianna. I got a little teary when we began and then again at the end. Brian and Alex were waiting on us at the finish.

We went straight from the run to another park for the 7th annual R2C2 Easter Egg Hunt. It was great. The weather was nice, and we had a great turn out. Cinnabon donated a TON of coffee drinks for folks to take home. The kids got lots of candy. MawMaw, PawPaw, Sonya, and Amos all made it out to the hunt. This was the first year Momma and Daddy got to come and I think they enjoyed themselves. Alex's age group, 0-2, took the longest to clear out their eggs. Brianna's group, 5-7, cleared the field in record time, they were like little vacuum cleaners. Momma and Daddy brought Alex home to nap, and Brian, Brianna, and I stayed to help clean up. Our Rock Group collected nonperishable food items for the Harrisburg Food Pantry and I have to say, we did better than I thought we would.

Tomorrow is Easter and I am excited about it being Easter. I remember Easter at my mom's church. Sonya and I always got a new Easter dress and Granny would buy us one of those already stuffed Easter baskets. We would get together with our cousins and hunt eggs. I remember when we realized the adults were putting money in the eggs. I think we still hunted eggs until we were teenagers, just for the money. Sonya and Amos are coming over after church for hamburgers and more Easter egg hunting.

just wanted to say congrats on finishing your first 5k. I'm training to run one too - I'm not a runner so it is a big step for me. I should be asleep now, but I keep reading your blog!

take care girls
