Weekend Update

I'm doing my weekend update early this week. I'm hoping the kids will let me sleep in tomorrow morning. Friday night we had rock group and we went to Troutman's and had a great time.

Saturday we had a cookout for Amos' birthday at his and Sonya's house. Amos' family was there and it was so fun hanging out with everyone. It was also the day Brianna came home after being at my mom's for a week. I was so excited to see her. I've missed her so much. She had tons of pictures for us. I will post some later this week. They took her to the zoo in Greenville, SC and to Chimney Rock.

Sunday was church. Randy spoke and he did a great job. He spoke on serving in the church and that some people choose to watch TV, hang out on FaceBook or whatever else instead of serving the church. I think that I can serve the church and my middle school girls specifically on FaceBook. If I'm on there in the afternoons or evenings, it gives me a way to keep in touch with them throughout the week. After church we ran a couple of errands and then we were home for the day. I wasn't feeling well, so we just stayed home and did nothing. The kids and I made cookies after supper.

Here's the cookie recipe (thanks Sharon):
Funfetti Cookies

1 package Pillsbury Moist Supreme Funfetti Cake mix
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1/2 can Pillsbury vanilla frosting
Sprinkles

Preheat oven to 375. Combine the cake mix, vegetable oil and eggs in a large bowl. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 6-8 minutes or until light golden. Cool 1 minute, remove from cookie sheet and allow to cool completely on cookie rack. When the cookies are cool, frost with the vanilla frosting and sprinkle with the sprinkles.

I didn't know this, but you can freeze the finished cookies and just pull out what you need. We doubled the recipe and made two batches since I am freezing them.

This week will be busier than last. Brianna has an appointment with the eye doctor, I would love to take them to the splash pad one day (if it ever stops raining), and my college roommate may visit this week.
