Yum, Yum!

Banana bread is probably one of my most favorite things. I always get a loaf when we go to the farmer's market. While I was watching Food Network the other week, I thought, "Why can't I make that?" So, I got on the internet and found a recipe on recipezaar.com.

Low-Fat Banana Bread

4 very ripe bananas
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
2 Tbsp. butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
2 Tbsp. applesauce

Mash bananas in a bowl.

Add all other ingredients and mix well.

Pour into 2 greased loaf pans.

Bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.

Here's what I did different: I used whole wheat flour instead of white flour. I just learned last week that white flour has been bleached! It's like eating Clorox!!! I made just one loaf and used the rest of the batter for muffins. The kids mashed the bananas with forks, it was a great way to get them involved. I punched this recipe into the WW Recipe Builder and it's only 2 points.
