We had a pretty busy weekend.

Friday the kids found this visitor on the side of the house. Brianna ran in to get the camera. (It's a praying mantis, if you can't tell.)
Saturday I got the kids up super early for the consignment sale at Harrisburg UMC. That afternoon Brianna had a Girl Scout event in Statesville. We were very excited about it since it was a Harry Potter theme. After we got to Oak Springs Brianna was sorted and we started the Scavenger Hunt. We got the first clue in the Great Hall and then we headed out to find owls that were scattered around the property.

Here is the second owl with the third clue. I took pictures of each clue so we could refer back to it when we needed to.

Brianna writing her article for the "Daily Snitch."

Third period was an owl presentation by the Carolina Raptor Center. Alex sat super still during the presentation. We learned a lot from the presentation. The kids had great questions. This one's name is Dumbledore and it was Alex's favorite.

This Barn Owl is my favorite. I love the golden brown color!

A Barred Owl.

A Screech Owl. It's tiny!

Alex hula hooping while Brianna...

played Quidditch.

Professor Trelawny teaching Potions.

Alex and I walked down a trail while Brianna was in Potions Class. He was so good the whole day. There was only one minor meltdown.
Sunday the kids and I didn't go to church. Honestly, I needed some time to be in my pajamas to drink coffee with nothing to do and no where to be. All three of us needed to sleep in too!

The kids laid in the floor watching TV. They wrapped up in "cocoons." After lunch the kids were invited to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. I'm not a huge fan, but we had a GREAT time. The kids got to run around and play, while I got some adult conversation. Since, Brian was in class in Columbia this weekend I was in desperate need of adult interaction.
