The kids and I had together time all weekend. Brian was in Columbia for the weekend, so the kids and I enjoyed each other. Friday afternoon Alex and I were sitting on the love seat and he told me his magic spit was making him hungry. Who knew there was such a thing?!?! That night we stayed home, the kids played outside, we watched TV, and finished cleaning the house.
Saturday, Brianna had a Girl Scout event bright and early. One of the Cadettes had a sing a long to celebrate Juliette Gordon Lowe's birthday. The Cadette was trying to earn her Bronze Award. After the sing a long we had to make a trip to Wal Mart, they still didn't have everything I needed. After Wal Mart we went to Harrisburg to pick up Cragan. She spent some time with us while Sonya got her nails done. Momma and Daddy made it back to our house before we did. The kids played. Alex was sitting in my lap and Cragan told him to "get up." I guess she figured he was sitting in her spot. After everyone left the kids and I went ot Old Navy. I had to return some pants I bought for Brianna Tuesday afternoon. After we got home, we rented Marmaduke, piled up in my bed and watched the movie.
Sunday, we played hookey from church and went to the zoo. It was such a beautiful day! It wasn't to hot and the animals were more playful. They have built a new giraffe deck and the kids and I spent a great deal of time there. We were so close to the giraffes, got to watch a couple of them lay down and one get up. With those long legs, they are much more graceful than they look. I think that was everyone's favorite. They have added several "outposts" throughout the zoo where there are TV and the kids can choose what subject they want to learn about. Well, of course my two wanted to learn about poop! Alex was actually paying attention. When Brian got home Alex told him how the poop was made into compost. (He actually said compost!) He told Brian about how the bulldozer mixes up the poop and sprayed with water. When we left the zoo I started getting really congested. By the time I sit down to write this I'm coughing and extremely congested. After Brian got home he had to get some splinters out of Brianna's hand. I have to say Alex handles that process soooooo much better than she does.
