So, Saturday Sharon, from church, sent me a recipe for Apple Dumplings that she found over on allrecipes.com. Here's a copy of the email Sharon sent:
"Hey Stephanie,
Tried this recipe last night--made it for breakfast. Got it off allrecipes.com. I was intrigued by the Mountain Dew. Even the hubs liked it! :-) Thought you might like to try it too. I used 3 apples and 3 cans of crescent rolls, but left the rest of it the same.
Sharon
Country Apple Dumplings
2 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and cored
2 (10 oz) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 cup butter
11/2 cups white sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 (12 fluid oz) can or bottle Mountain Dew
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
Cut each apple into 8 wedges and set aside. Separate the crescent roll dough into triangles. Roll each apple wedge in crescent roll dough starting at the small end. Pinch to seal edges and place in baking dish.
Melt butter in small saucepan and stir in sugar and cinnamon. Pour over the apple dumplings. Pour Mountain Dew over the dumplings.
Bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes, or until golden brown. "
Let me tell you, these were so good. Brianna and I ate ours straight from the oven with some vanilla ice cream on top! I only used 2 apples and 2 cans of crescents and it made a pan full!
