Weekend Update

Friday, Alex had a doctor's appointment. He needed a well visit before starting school and needed an assessment form filled out. Apparently he did a much better job this year with his vision screening than last year. Last year we had to go see Dr. McGriff. Dr. Benbow did tell me to change his allergy medicine. Hopefully, it will help. His behavior was getting so bad. It's odd for him to have to go to time out 3 and 4 times in a day for several days in a row. Brian bought BBQ from a guy at work. It was a fundraiser for his church. That was some GOOD BBQ!! For dessert I made Bananas in Red Stuff from southernplate.com. Super easy recipe, just chunk up some bananas and coat with strawberry glaze. After supper we got stuff together for the GS yard sale for 3 hours. Brianna worked sorting stuff and pricing it. I worked throwing stuff out of the attic.

Saturday morning was the yard sale. The girls made $250 to buy supplies for their kits for the kids at the homeless shelter. While she worked the sale, I went for a run down Union Street. I've always wanted to be one of those people running down the sidewalk on Union. I made pretty good time. I would like to get in at least 2 more outside runs before the 5K on Saturday. Brianna finished up her hours for her Bronze Award over the weekend. I'm really glad that's OVER. It seemed very unorganized. I'm just glad Brianna is finished. She wants to keep working on some stuff and that's fine with me.

Sunday was the first church service in our new church building. I got kind of emotional when we were waiting on Jimmy to open the doors. I was missing Joe. He wanted us to get a building probably more than anyone else. Church was family style, which is hard on parents. Thankfully I broke out the phone to keep Alex occupied, which also kept Cragan occupied. She had to tell me all about her "fip fops" and her dress. She's such a cutie and just thinking about her makes me smile! After church we went to lunch with them. For supper I made a roast in the crock pot. Jeff gave me the recipe a couple weeks ago: Put a roast in the crock pot. Mix together a packet of brown gravy mix, a packet of ranch dressing and a packet of Italian dressing. Pour this mixture over the roast and add 1/2 cup water. It was really good! Maybe next time I will add some carrots and potatoes to the crock pot with the roast.
