Friday night we were home. Bri has been fighting the virus that Alex had last weekend. I took her to the Minute Clinic Wednesday morning before school and the nurse gave her some medicine. She said the Bri could still go to school and be able to function with it. I have to say it got her through the week. She has felt pretty good, just tired.
Saturday we went out to the fall festival at the Rivergate Shopping Center. We had the best time. The kids got to decorate their own cupcakes at the SAS Cupcakes booth. Alex went overboard with the sprinkles!
Bri with her creation. We had a lunch of samples from the restaurants: Chick Fil A, smoothies, cookies, hot dogs, and TGI Fridays. When we left the festival, we started the Halloween costume hunt. I really put it off this year. Alex knew what he wanted to be, but Bri didn't. We looked in Target, but their costumes were picked over and we couldn't find anything. We left Target and went to Halloween Express. Their costumes were expensive and the ones in Bri's size were NOT what you would want to see your 11 year old daughter in! So, we headed to Wal Mart. There is a road on the way to Wal Mart that I wanted to see where it goes. There is a sign that says I can get to Gastonia that way, so we rode out that way until I figured out where we would wind up. In the car, Alex taught us about child prodigies, Johan Sebastian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. When we got to Wal Mart we saw a Volkswagon Bug, the kids have been playing punch buggy, and Alex informed us that a Bug, "is the only car with a motor in the back." I asked him where he learns this stuff and he said, "some from Daddy and some at school" Alex found his ninja costume, Bri also found her costume.
We also found....
these turkey hats! AND they play Turkey in the Straw!
Bri was laughing so hard, it's amazing I got a picture. Look how red her face is! I was laughing pretty hard too.
We had to toodle around in Wal Mart until the pharmacy opened. Bri found a book she wanted. She asked if she could put her costume back and get the book instead. So, she is recycling her costume from last year, that still fits.
Sunday we were home. I woke up with a headache so we stayed home so I could get rid of it. Bri is super tired too. She rested a good bit. Momma and Daddy came down for a visit. Bri took a couple naps and even went to sleep propped up on her arm at the island in the kitchen. Hopefully she will be okay to go to school Monday.
