Yesterday afternoon after I picked up the kids we went to Wal Mart to buy groceries. I've really gotten used to buying groceries alone without anyone tagging along. So, when they are with me it normally takes a little longer and is a little more taxing for me. I've got to make sure they are separated and tell them to stop asking of things. When we went out to the truck to load everything up we found a buggy with a purse in it. I told Bri to get out of the truck and get the purse to make sure no one else ran away with it. She looked in the top of the bag and told me there was a prescription inside. I told her to see if there was a phone number on the prescription slip. She said there were two, so we got out my phone and called the first number. As I was leaving a message a man answered and said he was the husband of the purse owner. I told him I was going to leave the purse at the customer service desk. So, after we loaded all the groceries into the truck we left the purse with a nice lady at the desk. I told her we had called the phone number on the prescription and told the lady's husband where the purse would be.
The lady just called me this morning to say she would like to have our address so she could send us a reward for turning her purse in. I told her no thanks that teaching my kids to do the right thing was reward enough. I don't think we should be rewarded for doing the right thing, we should just do it.
