The class had a great time at Copperhead Island. We walked the nature trail twice, then went to four different stations to learn about different animals. We learned that lizard scales are made from the same "stuff" that human hair is made from. A box turtle is named a box turtle because it's bottom shell is hinged, so it can close it when it's scared. I also learned that Alex loves all things gross. He wanted to touch all the animals and even asked if he could hold the snake. At the last station they learned about huge cockroaches. He was all about that mess. After the field trip I checked him out early and we got some lunch and ran a couple errands. He was so tired that he went to bed at 7 and hasn't made a sound.
