Weekend Update

What a beautiful weekend!  The weather was wonderful and we got to spend some much, much needed family time together!

Friday afternoon I got to hang out with Alex's class.  I am enjoying my time with them.  His teacher has me volunteering two afternoons a week.  Friday after recess they got to have popsicles.  They had the most parents come into the class for Open House.  I burned part of supper, just the bottom, it was still edible.  But, when I went running downstairs, Alex was hot on my heels.  When he smelled the burning, he started crawling on the floor.  They had fire safety week at school and he learned that if you smell smoke, you crawl because it's easier to breath on the floor.  After supper, the kids played outside for a bit while I worked on getting rid of summer plants and getting ready for fall plants.  I need to plant some mums out front.  I want to put some in the spots where we had some shrubs when we moved in.  The shrubs were dead when we moved in, so I pulled them up over the summer.

Launching chickens.
Saturday we went to the Siemens Fall Festival.  The kids had such a great time playing on the inflatables!  They were worn out by bedtime.  We weren't very hungry for supper, so the kids wanted cheese omelets.  Brian found some tomatoes and wanted to try his hand at making salsa.  Of course Alex had to help.  He even told Brian that making salsa was the best part of his day.

Sunday was spent at home.  I woke up not feeling good.  We watched the looney tune jump out of the balloon.  That's about it.

This Berry Cheesecake Pudding Salad is from my Pinterest board.  Bri whipped it up for us Sunday afternoon.
