Go Vote!

Today is election day.  It is our duty and right as American citizens to vote.  I remember going to Sandy Mush VFD with my parents and watching as they walked into the booth.  Then, there would be some joking around and them talking to people they knew.  I also remember being taken to the Board of Elections on my 18th birthday.  Momma took me up there and helped me register.  Now, as a mom, I've answered the questions posed by the kids.  We've talked about how our country runs.  Both Brian and I have shared our early voting stickers.  As a woman, I didn't earn the right to vote until August 26, 1920 when the 19th Amendment became law.

And on the 18th birthday of Brianna and Alex, you can take them to register to vote. It's a rite of passage into adulthood and being a responsible member of society. Lots of young men and women have given their lives so that we could have the right to vote!
