We had a pretty good weekend. On Saturday we went to visit my mom and dad. Got to spend some time with Nana. It was nice sitting at Nana's with Brian and the kids, Sonya, Amos and my mom and dad. Brian and Amos were cutting up and making us all laugh. My mom's church is being remolded and I have to say it looks nothing like the church I grew up in. It is beautiful. The sanctuary is so much bigger and they replaced the light fixtures that used to fall down on people. Nana gave me some new recipe magazines. I think I get my love of cooking from her. We both look at cookbooks a thousand times. The rule here at home, is if we don't like it Papa John's is on speed dial!
Sunday was the first day of Rock Groups for 252. I think the Middle School girls will be a great group. It will just take Robin and I some time to gain their trust and respect. Brian and I finally took the membership class after church. They basically made it "Taylor Proof." Brian and I were both there for the 11:00 service and they provided child care and lunch. D&D Deli provided lunch. Dave's subs are really good. I need to find out where his shop is. Then we just hung out at home.
We started our Biggest Loser at church last week, so this week was our first weigh in. I lost 2 pounds, which is not bad. Jimmy, our pastor, has already thrown down the challenge that he is taking my money. Bring it on Jimmy! So today I got on the treadmill and continued the training for our 5k at Easter. I would love to get outside and run today, but don't know that it will happen. It all depends on when all the extra kids leave.
Tonight I am making the family's new favorite dinner. Check back later for the recipe for Shepherd's Pie! I am making a few new recipes this week, if they are any good I will post them here.
