Friday night was Rock Group. The boys grilled chicken, hot dogs, and brats while the girls was chatting. So, so fun. I have said it here a million times and I will say it again, I love my rock group family. Brian worked the entire weekend, even Monday!
Saturday the kids and I went to the 4th of July festival for a little bit. It was hot, but not as hot as it has been in the past. Alex wasn't feeling the best, so we headed home for a movie afternoon. During the course of the afternoon, Alex spiked a fever and just started feeling worse.
Sunday we were supposed to go to my parents for a cookout, but Alex was running a fever, so we stayed home. We were in pj's all day. I think it was good for Alex to just rest. He even went to sleep while trying to watch The Jungle Book. For supper, I made chicken sandwiches. I took a chicken breast, cut it in half to make it thinner. Dusted them with flour, dipped in egg beaters, then coated in Panko breadcrumbs. Baked on a cookie sheet with a cooking rack on top. Served on whole wheat hamburger buns with choice of toppings. YUM!
Monday we went to WW, Harris Teeter and S&I Ice Cream. At HT we got a box of the new Krispy Kreme doughnuts with the Cheerwine filling. They are not that great!! BUT, a Strawberry Cheesecake Tornado from S&I was DELICIOUS!!!! The errands must have worn Alex out, he came home and slept for two hours. Whatever it is he has, he just can't kick. He doesn't have a fever this morning, so that's a good thing.
