Weekend Update

Friday we headed to my mom's for Uncle Dan's funeral. We spent the rest of the afternoon up there. We even broke Cragan out of daycare early. After Sonya got off work, we took the kids to Italian Garden is Boiling Springs for supper. We missed Rock Group at the Pumpkin Patch, but it was fun spending some time with everyone.

Saturday I took the kids to have their silhouettes cut. I had Brianna's done in 2004. It is good to have an updated silhouette of her and one of Alex. After that we went to Wal Mart to buy groceries. The place was packed!!! There were kids running all around, people everywhere! It was crazy! I thought I wouldn't be able to find everything, but they have everything I needed except livermush. Brian will be in Columbia next week and the kids and I want breakfast for supper. After we bought groceries, I dropped Brianna off with Sonya at Utopia. She told Alex she was having a sleepover with Cragan. They went to the Cleveland County Fair.

Sunday morning, Alex and I went to church. Alex was excited they had a lesson this week. Apparently they didn't have a lesson two weeks ago and Alex was MAD. So, he was happy to have a lesson this week. After church we came home to eat some lunch. Then, we went to pick up Brianna. We met them in Gastonia at Tony's Ice Cream. If you are in Gastonia, you HAVE to check out Tony's. Normally, I get a Peanut Butter Ripple milkshake. But, I refrained and just got a kids cup of Cherry Cheesecake. As I was sitting there, I realized I didn't need the huge milkshake. I still had my ice cream, just not a days worth of calories in ice cream. I made Rustic Beef Stew for supper. I got the recipe from southernplate. com. If you aren't checking this website out, what's wrong with you?! Really love this site. I can't wait to get my hands on her cookbook that comes out Tuesday. Here's the link for the recipe:
http://www.southernplate.com/2010/09/tomato-less-rustic-beef-stew.html. Really, this stuff was GOOD. The kids loved it. I've had beef stew before that was extremely dry, but this was juicy and tender.
