Weekend Update

What a weekend!  Friday night the kids were in need of a movie night and snuggling on the couch.  Alex said he was tired and "needed to relax."  I made pizza bread, had some ice cream and we watched Nanny McPhee Returns.

 To make the Pizza Bread:

1 loaf of Italian Bread (I saw a garlic and herb flavor that I want to try next time)
Pizza sauce
Any pizza toppings you like

Cut the bread and top with whatever you like.  Bri and I had pepperoni with mushrooms, onions, and olives.  The boys had pepperoni with onions.  Then bake at 350 until the cheese is melty!

Saturday we got up and I made pancakes.  Then we headed out to find Bri's book for band.  The place where we are renting the clarinet didn't  have it.  I tried to call one of their other stores, but they didn't return the message that I left.  It drives me crazy when people don't return phone calls!  The place that had the book was down on Providence Road in The Arboretum.  We passed this church on the way:

We've passed this before when we went to one of the other branch libraries. Actually we passed entrances 3 and 4.  We didn't see the front of the church until Saturday.  Brian said he bets they charge an admission to get in the door, or a parking fee.  I took these pictures from my phone in the car.  Saturday afternoon Sonya, Amos and Cragan came down to take Bri shopping.  They gave her an IOU for a pair of shoes.  Sonya took Bri shopping while Amos and Cragan stayed here.  Amos and Brian worked on Amos' computer while I played with Alex and Cragan.  Those two are double trouble!  They had fun climbing up on Alex's top bunk.  Cragan said she would like to sleep up there.  I think if she slept up there and he slept on the bottom, they wouldn't sleep that much.  They would probably play and talk all night.  Brian grilled burgers for supper, they were delicious!

Sunday we were home all day.  I took some allergy medicine Saturday night that totally knocked me out!  I was tired and sleepy all day, but feel better.  Brian ran a couple errands while the kids and I stayed home.  Alex said he liked being in his pajamas all day.  I did too for that matter!  As relaxed as the weekend was, I think it was just what we needed.  The kids, especially Alex, is tired after a week at school.

Sometimes it is just so good to do very little and to re-charge the batteries.
My daughter Maggie and I used to have "veg out" Friday nights. After a hard week at work for me and school for her we would curl up on the sofa with pizza, chocolate and tosh TV. Bliss.
